All one hundred pairs of jeans will be exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery in London for one week from 24th-30th October 2016, culminating in an auction event when bidding will close. Proceeds raised will be donated to the International Rescue Committee (rescue.org).
Participants include Sir Elton John,Woody Allen, Sharon Stone,Vivienne Westwood, Kate Moss, Marianne Faithfull, Carla Bruni, Sofia Coppola, Emma Watson, Karlie Kloss and others.
'Jeans For Refugees' (www.jeansforrefugees.com) began as Johny Dar's humble dream to do something about the current refugee crisis, and through the support and enthusiasm of many individuals and organisations that dream has evolved into a worldwide humanitarian initiative inspiring positive change. What began as a Johny Dar project and artistic collaboration is now a global campaign that has touched the hearts and minds of people around the world, and which continues to evolve as its message spreads.
‘Jeans For Refugees’ is an initiative which has captivated Europe and which we are proud to bring to New York Fashion Week, launching the project officially in the US with a groundbreaking runway show.
