LEAF XIA is a fashion label from 90s Chinese designer, YiQi (Leaf) Xia, launched in 2016. With a rich background in charitable work, Xia takes her inspiration from humanity, love and a joyful engagement with color, print, and collage. Specializing in collage, Xia uses this medium as a tool to express her unique design spirit. Her pieces often feature oversized shapes with colorful silhouettes that play on the classic.
Leaf Xia graduated from Parsons The New School For Design with a BFA in womenswear, showcasing at the Parsons 67th Annual Fashion Benefit Runway Show in 2015. Her thesis work has also been exhibited in Saks Fifth Avenue window display in New York. Leaf Xia has been named Fashion Scout’s SS16 “Ones to Watch ”,receiving a sponsored catwalk show and exhibition during London Fashion Week in 2015.The success of her first collection, saw Xia gain notable attention, published on Vogue, Glamour, Schon and Vogue Talents, Italian. WGSN rated LEAF XIA after Alexander McQueen as 9 of the most daring Looks from LFW.
Leaf Xia launched her label and showed her first official runway show on February, 2016 during London Fashion Week. Her clothing published on Vogue UK, Glamour UK, WGSN, ELLE China, Vogue China, Grazia China, and other major medias. She is also the first Chinese designer to collaborate with the ice cream brand Magnum and showed the collaborated SS17 collection at Shanghai Fashion Week.
