PARSONS MFA

SIX is a showcase of work by the sixth graduating year from the MFA Fashion Design and Society program at Parsons School of Design, a highly selective program for talented, emerging designers that was initiated through the support of alumna Donna Karan. The MFA Fashion Design and Society is the first graduate program of its kind in the United States. Both interdisciplinary and international in scope, this academy for advanced studies in fashion design is training a small cadre of world-class designers to have a global understanding of fashion. The program is studio-based and fosters experimentation, providing students with the design and research skills they need to become successful in the field, including a critical awareness for self-development and growth. The Program focuses on the designers, research process, highlighting their personal identity, and is evidenced through a body of work integrating both highly executed innovative clothing and textiles, and supported by extensive research materials.
