PatBO Spring 2023 Runway Collection is both a forward-looking evolution and a continuation of the return to her couture beginnings.

Rooted in traditional artisan craft and inspired by the 1960's, the Spring 2023 Collection is a masterful mix of textures and time through hand beading and embroidery combined with high-tech fabrics and cutouts. A black and white palette with pops of kinetic color and psychedelic print, geometric cut-outs and handmade flowers evoke a sensorial journey influenced by decades past, with a nod to the futuristic.

Each of the 39 looks, all handcrafted by the artisans at Bonaldi’s Brazilian atelier, proudly show off their depth of skill with intricate beading, silk flower appliqués and avant-garde construction. The “sculpture” mini dress is constructed entirely of beads, with no underlying fabric holding its structure. The gems become the garment, manipulated through skillful hand embroidery.

With icons like Catherine Deneuve, Twiggy and Jane Birkin as muses, the collection reflects elements of their stylish spontaneity, modernity, and sense of ease in luxury. Denim is treated with intricate beading; easy-to-wear shift dresses are embellished with ornate appliqués and faux pearl straps; and slinky evening shapes are seen in extravagantly adorned tech fabric and hand beaded fringe. The finale look, a pop pink floor-grazing fringe gown made from individually hand-strung glass tube beads took more than two months of work to complete.

Bonaldi delivers an optimistic collection that marries wearable silhouettes and fabrics with fanciful embellishment and technical exhibitionism. Ease and extravagance converge with joyful results.
