Kim Shui was born in the US, and grew up in Rome, Italy. She graduated from Duke University with a double major in Economics and French before pursuing Fashion Design at Central St. Martins where she graduated with Distinction. Growing up in Italy and having lived in the US, UK and France, Shui draws upon her multicultural background to transform and assimilate diverse impressions and techniques. She debuted her first AW16 ready to wear collection at NYFW with VFILES. Sponsored and selected by Vogue Italia, she then exhibited at Pitti Super Talents in Milan. She was one of ten designers selected for the prestigious International Talent Support Competition and Samsung Galaxy Award – collaborating then with Samsung in creating wearable technology and designing a phone case for them.
