Mansur Gavriel is a New York City based design label founded by Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel in the spring of 2012. Mansur Gavriel creates elevated leather goods and ready-to- wear, made in Italy, from fine Italian leathers and fabrics. The philosophy of the brand is to design classic yet refined silhouettes emphasizing color and material as means to express a range of emotions. Designer Rachel Mansur studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and graduated with a BFA in Textiles. Designer Floriana Gavriel studied at the University of the Arts Bremen in Germany and graduated with a BFA in Fashion Design.
Rachel and Floriana met in Los Angeles in 2010, and quickly became long distance collaborators. In April 2012, the pair relocated to New York and founded Mansur Gavriel. The Mansur Gavriel handbag collection debuted with Fall 2013 at Net-a- Porter and other high-end specialty retailers. Today, Mansur Gavriel has a strong and dedicated customer base; it is sold in over 100 retailers globally, including Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Le Bon Marché, Dover Street Market, Opening Ceremony and more.
In Spring 2016 Mansur Gavriel presented their first shoe collection, which is now sold alongside the bags at retailers worldwide, as well as on their own e-commerce site, launched in 2014.
In Fall 2017 the brand debuted ready to wear in its first see now buy now collection, presenting a range of outerwear and knits sold exclusively at Net-a- Porter, Bergdorf Goodman, colette and Mansur Gavriel.
The addition of ready-to- wear to their offering marks an important step in the development of the brand which will launch four collections a year from 2018. Mansur Gavriel has two New York City stores, the first opened late 2016 in Soho, followed by a Pop-Up on Madison avenue, Upper East Side, in October 2017. The brand’s first West Coast location opens early 2018 on Melrose place in Los Angeles.
Mansur Gavriel was the recipient of the 2015 Council of Fashion Designers of America Swarovski Award for Accessory Design, as well as the 2016 Accessory Designer of the Year Award.
